Precious Penguin Pair Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Place wood shapes on scrap wood block before drilling or they will break. Drill holes in teardrop wings and opposite ends of 1½” star, 1¼” stars and two of the ¾” stars.
  2. Draw inside body line that separates colors to craft spoons. Basecoat penguin body inside line Buttermilk. Basecoat outside line of penguin body Soft Black. Basecoat all hearts and stars Marigold.
  3. Dry brush edges of all pieces Honey Brown. Rouge rounded ends of beaks Country Red.
  4. Draw beak details to hearts, eyes to penguin bodies and “Happy Holidays” to 1½” star. Dot nostrils with fine tip black writer. Dot eyes with bullet black writer.
  5. Draw beak and penguin stitching. Draw cords and stitched line close to edge of stars with fine tip black writer.
  6. Glue teardrop wings to back of penguin body. Glue heart and star feet to front of penguin body. Note: The star feet are the stars without holes. Glue buttons to centers of 1)4'’’ stars. Allow to dry.
  7. Jute - Remove one strand from jute and discard. Put a dot of glue on ends of jute and twist into points using your thumb and index finger. Run jute through holes in 1½” star from front to back to front. Make a knot with jute at front of each wing hole. Make a knot on both sides of penguin from previous knot. Continue in same manner adding 1¼’’ stars and ¾” stars leaving ¾” of jute between stars. End with a knot on each of the last star holes.
  8. Trim glued ends of jute. Use long ends of jute to attach garland to a basket or wall or hang them on a tree.
