Quackie - Duck Terra Cotta Saucer
Supplies:
- 12” terra cotta saucer (or size of choice)
- Delta Acrylic Paint - white, black, coral, pumpkin, crocus yellow and fuschia pearl
- 2 chenille stems - white or yellow
- 1/2 yd. ribbon of choice
- 6-8 yellow feathers
- DecoArt patio paint clearcoat (to seal painted saucer)
- Blush powder (if not using coral paint)
- Hot glue & glue gun
- Spray sealer
Instructions:
Seal terra cotta saucer with clear coat. Let dry. Paint saucer crocus yellow. Two or three coats will be needed. Paint two circles in white for eyes. Paint smaller circles at upper part of white eye circle for Iris. Draw on mouth or trace from pattern using graphite. Paint mouth pumpkin. When dry, paint the inside of mouth where it opens in fuschia pearl. Paint some coral on for cheeks or brush on blush powder. If using powder, do not touch until sealed with spray sealer. Using black, outline all features and add eyelashes. Twist the two chenille stems together at the bottom. Hot glue feathers the length of stems. Bend into desired shapes and glue to rim backside of saucer. Make a ribbon bow and glue to top of head at feathers. Give feathers an unruly look by placing one or two in bow. Spray or brush on sealer. Dry.
