Wood Preparation


Supplies:
  • Fine Sandpaper or Sanding Disk
  • Tack Cloth
  • Any waterbased wood sealer of your choice
  • Foam Brush
  • Acrylic Paint

Instructions:

  1. There are several different ways to seal your wood. The first step for all techniques is to sand the wood with fine sandpaper until a smooth texture is achieved.
  2. Wipe clean with a tack cloth.

Spraying:

  1. After sanding, spray wood with a light coat of acrylic sealer.
  2. Sand wood again.
  3. Spray another light coat of acrylic sealer. Sand again if necessary.
  4. Brush on base coat of paint with a foam brush. It may take 2 or 3 coats.

Brush On:

  1. After sanding, brush on wood sealer of choice. Allow to dry thoroughly.
  2. Sand wood again if necessary.
  3. Brush on base coat paint with foam brush. It may 2 or 3 coats.
