Fabric Required:

• 3/4 yard for body of pillowcase
• 1/3 yard for end of pillowcase
• 1/8 yard for accent strip

Cutting:

• 3/4 yard piece cut 27”x41 = main piece
• 1/3 yard piece cut 10”x41 = end piece
• 1/8 yard piece cut 3”x41 = accent strip

Press:

• 3”x41” accent strip in half lengthwise - strip is now 1 1/2”x41”
• 10”x41” end piece in half lengthwise - piece is now 5”x41”

Pin folded accent strip to the right side (41” length) of main fabric. Unfold the end piece and pin along same edge as accent strip (You will have the cut edges of your three fabrics layered). Sew the layers all together with a 1/2” seam. Press seam allowance toward end piece.

With right sides together, sew the entire side (matching the accent/end piece seams) and bottom of pillowcase together using a 1/2” seam. Use a zigzag stitch or serger to finish off these seams.

Fold the unfinished side of the piece under 3/8 inch. Turn the end piece on the original fold and have the 3/8” turn under edge cover the 1/2” seam allowance. Pin to hold for top stitching or stitch in the ditch.

Turn pillowcase right side out. Sew end in place by stitching in the ditch or top stitching.
