Perm Enamel Paint


Supplies:
  • Perm Enamel paint
  • Perm Enamel conditioner
  • Perm Enamel glaze, gloss or satin finish
  • Paint brushes
  • Paint N’ Press transfers
  • Stencils (if desired)
  • Tile, glass, ceramic, terra cotta, metal, or other project of choice.

Instructions:

  1. Clean and condition surface with Perm Enamel cleaner & conditioner.
  2. Basecoat clean, dry surface with Perm Enamel paint or satin glaze.
  3. Use method of choice to decorate your project (see below)
  4. Allow surface to dry 1 hour. Apply Perm Enamel clear gloss or satin finish to painted surface.
  5. Let project cure ( don’t wash, scrub, put in the dishwasher, or oven) for ten days.

Stencil Method:

  1. Prepare surface as directed in steps 1-3 of basic instructions.
  2. Lightly spray stencil adhesive to smooth side of stencil. Let adhesive dry. Position stencil on surface.
  3. Lightly dip stencil into paint. Blot excess paint on a paper towel until the brush is almost dry. Use sparingly - it only takes a small amount to achieve desired effect.
  4. Apply paint using a pouncing motion. To shade, highlight, or increase color, add color little by little.
  5. Finish project as instructed in steps 4-5 of basic instructions.

Transfer Method:

  1. Prepare surface as directed in steps 1-3 of basic instructions.
  2. Press on outline:
    • Cut apart the three designs.
    • Remove backing paper and position bottom layer of transfer on clean, dry surface, adhesive side down.
    • Rub burnishing stick firmly across surface until black lines lighten.
  3. Paint in color:
    • Paint in the design areas in desired colors. Paint with in the lines.
    • Shade and highlight with contrasting colors as desired.
    • Allow paint to dry thoroughly, approximately one hour.
  4. Press on shading and details transfer:
    • Align the top layer of transfer on top of painted design. Firmly rub transfer down with burnishing stick.
    • To ensure adhesion, use backing paper to rub firmly over the design again.
  5. Finish project as directed in steps 4-5 of basic instructions. Note: Transfers are not for use on surfaces that will be exposed to oven heat, automatic dishwashing, prolonged water contact, or microwave ovens.

Free Hand Method:

  1. Prepare surface as directed in steps 1-3 of basic instructions.
  2. Paint design onto surface. You may transfer a design from a book. Or pattern and paint as with any other decorative painting project or freehand your own design.
  3. Finish project as in steps 4-5 of basic instructions.
