Fire Cracker Supplies - Paper Mache Box:

Instructions - Paper Mache Box:

  1. Basecoat lid of paper mache box with Rythmn & Blue paint. Let dry.
  2. Paint the base portion of the box white.
  3. Now that the white basecoat is dry, paint 1” stripes around the box.
  4. Paint stars on the lid using white paint.
  5. Use a nail and poke a hole in the lid. Feed 2 1/2” of candle wicking string through the hole and glue in place.
  6. Using a sharpie, outline stars and draw wiggly lines to the outside of red stripes.

Supplies - Wood Box:

Instructions - Wood Box:

  1. Basecoat lid of wood box with Rythmn & Blue paint. Let dry.
  2. Paint the base portion of the box white.
  3. Now that the white basecoat is dry, paint Tompte red stripes around the box, spacing them about every 2”.
  4. Draw a star shape on a sponge sheet and cut it out. Dip the shape in water to expand sponge.
  5. Dip sponge in white paint. Then dab on a paper towel to remove excess.
  6. Sponge paint several stars on the lid.
  7. Spray the whole piece with Home Decor Stain (Honey) to give it an “Americana” look.
  8. Cut 10”, 6” & 4” pieces of craft wire
  9. Curl the craft wire around a dowel or pencil.
  10. Using a nail, poke four holes on the top of the lid.
  11. Cut a 3” piece of pipe cleaner and glue in center hole.
  12. Using hot glue gun, glue curled craft wire in the remaining few holes.
  13. Paint star wood shapes red, white & blue.
  14. Glue wire between 2 stars of the same shape and color.
  15. Spray with matte a spray.
