The Handmade Brigade of Orange County and Tall Mouse Arts and Crafts are hosting a Swap-o-Rama-Rama on the 13th of June at the Tall Mouse Craft Store in Yorba Linda. The Swap-o-Rama-Rama is a communal process of reuse, recycling and repurposing! Basically a giant clothing swap and series of do-it-yourself workshops in which a community explores reuse and creativity through the recycling of used clothing. We want our guests to make the move from consuming to creating! In a nutshell, bring at least one bag of unwanted clothing as your entrance fee, you get to pick as much as you want from the communal pile of donations and we will have 8 stations with experienced people to help you reconstruct it into something new. (Screenprint a bird on a shirt that fits you well, turn that oversized men's shirt into a dress, make that old pair of pants into a lovely handbag!)
We are trying to bring the habit of recycling to as many people as we can through this event. All left over clothing at the end of the event is donated to a local Orange County shelter.
