Event Details:
The Handmade Brigade Craft Fair is a unique Indie crafting event featuring some of the most talented and crafty people out there. Items you will find at the fair are: DIY knitting, jewelry, sewn items, paper crafting and many more!
The event will be held at the Tall Mouse Arts and Crafts store in
Cerritos, Ca: 6/6 : 10-4PM

*Fill out one application even if you want to try and book both shows. If you are accepted into one show, it does not necessarily mean you will be accepted into the second one. We’ve got LOTS of people that want in! :)
Applying to be a vendor:
The Handmade Brigade is a juried event which means that an application must be submitted, reviewed by a panel and accepted in order to participate. Applying for the event does not in any way guarantee you a spot in the show.
Applications will be accepted from Friday April 10th to Saturday, May 1st.
To apply, please submit an application online and be sure to add photos of your work to be reviewed. Pictures are largely the deciding factor of whether or not you will be accepted. Please Note: All items MUST be original and handmade. No commercially purchased or imported items are acceptable. Also, Tall Mouse is a family environment. No profanity, vulgarity or obscene natured items will be accepted. Mild characters such as skulls are perfectly acceptable.
Decisions are based upon:
- How well your items fit in with the overall vision of the Handmade Brigade (See links below for a couple of other fairs with the same feel)
- Quality and individuality of your wares
- Originality- We will be accepting a limited number of vendors per category.
Vendors will be notified by May 8th by email if they are accepted. Once accepted, you will be given more information regarding the event. (Due to the number of applications, we may not be able to respond individually to every application if you are not accepted.)
Vendor Fee is $45. This fee secures your spot in the show as well as the use of one 6 ft. table and two chairs that will be provided the day of the event. Payment instructions will follow once you have been accepted.
FAQ:
- Can I rent more than one space at the event?

Unfortunately no. We have too many applications and not enough spaces. One space per vendor is all we can afford.
- Can I apply with a friend and share a table?

Yes! Sharing a table with a friend is perfectly acceptable. When you apply, use only ONE application. Be sure to leave a main contact person and include everyone’s business info. (Names, URL’s, photos, emails, etc.)
- Do I need a seller’s permit or resale license?

Yes! You are responsible for registering your small business with the state board of equalization by obtaining a seller’s permit. The reason is that you are required by law as a small business to pay sales tax on all the goods you sell throughout the year. The way they track your sales is through your account at the state board of equalization. Seller’s permit numbers are required on our application you will be required to show your permits at the door when you come to set up for the event.
- If I am accepted, do I need to bring any cash?

Yes. The show is operating completely separate from the store. You will need to bring your own change. Your customers will be paying cash (It is up to you to accept checks or not) so it is recommended that you bring plenty of singles, fives and tens. The store will NOT be providing ANY change or taking on any credit card transactions.

Presented by Tall Mouse and the Orange County Handmade Brigade (A local craft group full of talented renegades in this crafty world, setting out to make the OC cool) We are all about indie arts and crafts. WE’ve had two of these shows already and they keep getting better and better! This year we’ve got two in June planned. One application is good for both.
